Hi I'm Laurie

I am a chauffeur, a cook and a maid! I'm a wife, a daughter, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I loved my life growing up in a small Utah town. I was one of 8 children born to my parents. After graduating from high school, I attended some college, worked as a custodian, and then a secretary. I then served as a volunteer missionary for 18 months in northern Pennsylvania and upstate New York. Upon my return, I met a man, who I now call my very supportive and wonderful husband. We have been blessed with six (3 boys, 3 girls) amazing children. We have lived in Utah, New Jersey, and for the past 12 years have called Nebraska home. I feel very fortunate to have been able to stay at home with my children (prior to them attending public school). When I am not acting as a chauffeur, a cook or a maid for my family, I enjoy playing games, reading, serving others, mentoring and helping out at my children's schools, learning more about my family history, taking walks, and sneaking in an occasional trip. To sum up my life...my family is everything!!

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised a Mormon; I was baptized at eight years of age. However, there came a time when I felt it was time to stop believing just because it was what I had heard and had been taught all of my life. After having planted my own "little mustard seeds" of faith through reading, pondering and praying about the scriptures, listening to the words of living prophets, and attending various church meetings, I received a strong witness that the gospel of Jesus Christ is, without a doubt, real. It was through this that I experienced my own conversion. I have truly been blessed as I have continued to act upon the teachings of the Church and of my Savior. I know that the principle of tithing is real, because I have seen it work in my life. I know that because I have stayed clear of addictive substances, I have been blessed with a strong and healthy body. I know that as I have strived to follow the teachings of Jesus, I am happier, despite the trials and challenges of life.

How I live my faith

I strive to live my fatih by teaching my children about Jesus Christ. I try to be the kind of example to them that the Savior would want me to be. I attend church in a small congregation each Sunday. I have been blessed with many opportunities to serve those around me. Whether it be taking meals to the sick, visiting someone in need, teaching a lesson to the children or adults, or acting as a listening ear, I almost always come away a better person. I love spending time in temples of the Lord, where we are able to feel closer to God, and serve those who have not had the opportunity to accept Christ in this life. I am not perfect, by any means, but I am indeed grateful for a loving Heavenly Father, who loves me for who I am and who always gives me the opportunity to try a little harder.
