Hi I'm Kathie

I'm a wife and a mom.I work with preschoolers with special needs.I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Southern California, a true "valley girl". Loved the beach and the sun and thought I wanted to act, like everyone else in L.A.:) I attended a performing arts high school and loved it but found my true calling in life after graduation. I started working with kids and have never looked back. I have been an early childhood educator for 20 years and can't think of a better way to spend my life, except for raising my own kids! My husband and I have been married for 15 years and lived in Colorado for almost as long. We have 2 great kids and a boxer that keep us very busy. I have worked with preschoolers with special needs for 4 years and love what I do. I guess we are a pretty typical family, kids, pets, crazy schedules...the works.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the church and never really questioned my beliefs until I was in my early 20's. Don't get me wrong, I have always known that the Gospel is true but I had to find my own testimony and not just depend on that of my parents. I spent a few years testing the love and patients of our Father in Heaven and came to realize that I am a duaghter of God, no matter what. The eternal perspective that the gospel brings to my life is an endless sorce of peace and strength for me. I know that I have a very loving and patient Heavenly Father that wants me and all of his children to return to him. I know that I have a Savior, Jesus Christ, that sacrificed himself for me. I know that through the atonement of Jesus Christ I can live eternaly with my family and my Father in Heaven. I am so thankful for a young boy named Joseph Smith that followed his heart and restored the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the earth. This life can be hard and I know that without the Gospel in my life I would be wondering lost and scared. I am thankful every day that I have the peace and comfort that the Gospel provides.

How I live my faith

As a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints I live my faith every day. Church on Sunday is only a small part of what I do to show my faith. I have several ladies that I get to visit every month, to check in, to build friendships, to give srevice. "Visiting Teaching" gives me the chance to get to know women that I may not normaly associate with but over the years have found some of my very dearest friends that way. I have been able to be involved in organizing events for the church, like an annual Nativity display, and seen the impact they have on our community. Living the Goapel is more than just attending church it is truely living as Christ would have us live and serving our fellow man.
