Hi I'm Kevin

I'm a husband, a father, a management consultant, and a Mormon.

About Me

I like to read science fiction, play tennis, and go for walks. I really enjoy history of all kinds, especially the history of the Mormon church and early Christianity. I try to keep up with the latest in technology, especially productivity tools like smartphones, tablets, etc. I'm not much of a social networker, so I don't contribute much in that arena, but I eavesdrop from time to time to see what my friends and extended family are doing.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I believe that we are all God's children, and that He has a plan that allows each of us to exercise our agency to learn and grow and return to Him someday if we so choose. I believe that there are truths beyond those that can be proven scientifically that we can learn from the Holy Ghost and through prayer and reading scripture. These truths include the reality of God, the infinite atonement of Jesus Christ, that we are the offspring of God, that we are eternal beings, and many more very important teachings that provide a firm foundation for life here on earth and beyond.

How I live my faith

I teach the Gospel Doctrine class for adults each week in Sunday School. I also visit several families in our congregation each month to make sure they are doing well, and to encourage them to pray as a family, read the scriptures, and follow the teachings of the leaders of the church. This is called "hometeaching", and is part of my responsibility as a holder of the Melchizedek priesthood. All worthy male members of the church over 12 years old have the opportunity to be ordained to the priesthood.
