Hi I'm Jim

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a grandfather of 19 grandchildren. My wife and I are both members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Between us we have seven children, and we are retired. I volunteer and have been active in the Boy Scouts of America for 42 years. I have been a leader in Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts. My wife loves to sew and garden. I spent 26 years in the military.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints 39 years and and I introduced my present wife to the gospel. We were married the night before I had open heart surgery, and our marriage was sealed for time and all eternity in the Salt Lake City Temple four years after our civil marriage. I have a testimony of the divinity of Jesus Christ. He atoned for all the sins of mankind and through his atonement I can embrace life eternal as long as I do my part and remain worthy. We have one granddaughter married in temple and three of our children are return missionaries and have been married in the temple. Sharing the gospel with others is important because all people are God's children and need to have the opportunity to chose for themselves to embrace Christ and his sacrifice for all mankind.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by keeping the commandments of God, attending Church regularly, by home teaching the families I have been assigned, and taking a gospel message monthly. I remain active in scouting, and love to see the cub scouts progress. The Church of Jesus Christ embraces the scouting program and the program provides many exciting programs for the boys. I have attended cub scout day camp for the last few years, and assisting 200 cub scouts learn some skills. I teach a Sunday School class to the adult men, and that assignment helps me to read and pondering the scriptures.
