Hi I'm James

I joined the church when I was 21, served a mission in St. Louis, MO, and was married in the Okland, CA Temple in 1997.

About Me

I am a husband and father of two boys. I am currently a Registered Nurse at a small community hospital. In favor of being a better husband and father, I made a career change to health care in 2004 after a first career as a commercial pilot. I still love aviation though I have a personal interest in music, particularly in arrangement and composition for the piano. I love to spend time outdoors: especially hiking with my friends and family here in Colorado. I have had a lifelong interest in sports, particularly in tennis for which I enjoy coaching although I have started to play golf and love to watch baseball and football. Go Rockies!!! I have an interest in trains and volunteer at a model railroad museum.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in a Protestant church in California and joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in my early twenties after being introduced to it by a friend. A year later I served a mission in St. Louis, MO. I met my wife after completing my mission and was married to her in the Oakland, CA temple in 1997. My most prized posession is my conversion experience (my testimony) and the friends and associations I have made through involvement in the church. The values and standards adheared to by church members as taught in the gospel of Jesus Christ, has enabled me to avoid much adversity and complication in my life. More than that, it has provided indescribable happiness and direction that I wouldn't enjoy otherwise. What I love most about the church organization is its sense of order and correctness: its focus on discipline, professionalism, integrity and quality. This is, of course, an outward manifestation of each member's desire to serve others and represent Jesus Christ in everything they do.

How I live my faith

I currently serve in my Ward as a choir accompanyist, organist and pianist in the children's primary meetings. I joined this church as a result of a friend's interest in me and who knew that what they had to tell me would change my life for the good for not only this life but for eternity. Therefore, whenever given the opportunity, I love paying it back to someone who is searching for answers to some of life's great questions by sharing what I have learned with them. I love seeing the happiness that comes to people from the realization that we are not alone in this life and that we do have a loving Father in Heaven who loves us and wants us to know that: who wants us to succeed and who wants a daily relationship with us.
