Hi I'm Barbara

I'm a proud citizen of the Lone Star state of Texas and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love to read about American history and the Founding Fathers. Their courage and love for true liberty inspires me.  I'm part of the baby boomer generation and I'm fast approaching retirement. My work as an auto claims adjuster helps me feel compassion for others delemia and stress. My work is fast paced but rewarding as the same time. I'm four for four, four children and four grandchildren and I can truly say these are becoming my golden years.

Why I am a Mormon

I was brought up in a family that always went to church and was taught about God. But inside me was a longing for something that I needed and my prayers became this " Father I want to come home." After about two weeks of kneeling and praying about wanting to go home, there came a knock on the door and upon opening it , their stood two young men. The Spirit whispered to me this is the answer to your prayers. I looked at them thinking what? But as my husband and I listened to their message and devoured the Book of Morman, a testimony was kindled in our hearts. Two weeks after opening that door we were baptised and became members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. As a convert of forty-three years, I took the road less traveled and it has made all the difference.

How I live my faith

I teach the adult Sunday School class called Gospel Doctrine.I feel so humble to be able to weekly teach and discuss the scriptures with those in my local congregation. The women of our church are a part of the oldest womens organization for women in the United States. Not only do we have inspired lessons each week but we also visit assigned sisters each month to give personal service, as needed, along with a message. Living the gospel is not a spectators sport but an active one that allows me to grow and become a women of strength and faith.

Why are Mormons asked to donate 10% of their income to their Church?

The Law af tithing is a sacrifice but it is coupled with great blessings. God has given us everything and has asked that we return a tenth to him and by obeying we learn to manage our resources and show our love by being obedient to this commandment. Show more Show less
