Hi I'm Rob Peterson

I grew up in Salem, Oregon. I love to write and record music. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a father of four kids (9, 7, 4, 2), who met my wonderful wife in Young Ambassadors at BYU. I spend most of my free time hanging out with my wife and kids. When I'm not doing that, I really love to write and record music (I'm no rock star yet, but it's a work in progress) or play sports.

Why I am a Mormon

Everyone that strives to be an 'active' member of the church goes through some sort of conversion process, and I'm no different. I was born to faithful Mormon parents, but, like many, always had plenty of questions and doubts about what was real or true or right or wrong. There is a promise in the Book of Mormon about how you can find out the truthfulness of its message. It works. I tried it and received an answer about the truthfulness of that book and of the gospel. That being said, I don't really think of that experience as the watershed moment in my faith, nor the reason I am a Mormon today. For me it comes down to the feelings of happiness that come as I continue to try to follow Jesus and live the gospel. These feelings are as real and palpable as anything. I fall short of where I'd like to be way too much of the time, but feel lifted and blessed by the knowledge and feeling that our Heavenly Father loves me, cares about me and wants me to return to be with Him. These blessings are available to each of us as we strive to come unto and be like Jesus, and I know this is true, as I've not only witnessed it in my own life, but in the lives of many others.

How I live my faith

I work in the Chandler, Arizona stake with young men and Boy Scouts.
