Hi I'm Mike

I'm a proud father and grandfather, a contented resident of beautiful Colorado, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a native of Colorado, and I married my high school sweetheart during our time at college. After living in various places, we returned to this beautiful state to make our life together. I have practiced real estate law here for nearly 30 years. My wife and I were blessed with three wonderful daughters before she passed away some eight years ago. Since her passing, our daughters have married great young men, and I have become the happy grandfather of two amazing boys, with (I hope) many more grandchildren yet to come. I love to work, and I work too much. I try to do what I can to help a few of God's children when I can. And my greatest joy comes from spending time with my family.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because there is a wonderful feeling of Christlike love, fellowship and service in the congregations of the Church. I am continually nurtured, lifted and renewed by that love and fellowship, and my family and I have been the beneficiaries of that service in times of trial, especially when our wife and mother was ill and then passed away. And I find meaning, joy and satisfaction in the many opportunities to serve others, and thereby to serve the Lord, that the Church provides. We are a diverse yet unified community of believers. All are welcome, and all are invited to worship together, and to serve and be served. The Church has allowed me to meet, learn to know and appreciate, and interact and serve with, people from all walks of life. Even more importantly, I am a Mormon because I believe in Jesus Christ, and I believe that His work is being done and His truths are being taught in the Church. I believe that both the Bible and the Book or Mormon are the word of God, and teach us of Christ and His ways. I believe that with His help, and because of His goodness and His grace, we can meet any challenge life places before us. For me, and for many others, those challenges have included the premature loss of a loved one. I am a Mormon because of the doctrine the Church teaches, and which I believe with all my heart to be true, that such loss is but temporary, and that I will be with her once again. I am a Mormon because being a Mormon brings peace and joy into my life.

How I live my faith

I strive to live my life with generosity, patience and concern for others. Certainly I fall short, but this is what the Savior taught and what I believe to be the right way to live.
