Hi I'm Beth

I am who I am. Among other things, I am a convert who loves being a Mormon.

About Me

When looking at my life, I find that I am a relatively simple person. I love my family, my husband, and my friends with everything I am. I like to read and learn about everything and anything. I like being outdoors whenever I get the chance. I especially love to boulder, which is essentially low tech rock climbing where we only use shoes and nothing else. I like to play video games on our PS3 and on my computer. I adore playing board games with friends. I like to meet new people and make new friends. I am enthusiastic, energetic, and outgoing. I live my life to the best of my ability and always push myself to become better.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because this church is true. That’s the easiest way for me to put it. I know that our Heavenly Father loves each and every one of us. I know that because of the Atonement, even in the darkest days of our lives, He is there with Jesus by his side helping us, even if we are too far gone or lost to see it. I know that they will never give up on us because when all else fails there is always love. I know that the ultimate messages that constantly comes from our Heavenly Father and Jesus is one dedicated to forgiveness and understanding, love and compassion, support and caring, no matter what. I know that this church is true because through my own research, fervent prayers, and time spent contemplating the only answer I have ever received to my questioning has always been yes. A resounding yes, that this gospel is true, that the Atonement happened for the benefit of mankind, and that I am a truly child of God. In case someone may find this helpful. My favorite passages from the Book of Mormon are found in Alma 32. It has helped me in countless ways, countless times. It helped me to find my testimony and it helps me every day to keep it.

How I live my faith

I “live my faith” the only way I know how: I just live my life. I follow the commandments of God. I do my best each and every day to choose and do the right thing, no matter what it is. I follow promptings when I am blessed enough to have them from the Holy Spirit. I love my husband, my family, my friends, and my loved ones with all that I am. I try to smile and open my heart and share the light God has granted me with everyone around me, no matter what burdens I have because I know the Lord will help me. I know that Heavenly Father needs me to be who I am to help those around me. I just try to be myself and do my very best in all things. I guess, what I do is not really special, flashy, or even obvious. But, then I know that all I have to do is live my life and do what Heavenly Father wants me to do and everything else will happen as it should. I know that through doing a little each day, I am doing what the Lord wants me to do. He never intended me to just do the bigger things to demonstrate my faith and obedience. Living my faith means truly becoming the person the Lord wants me to be (even when I am by myself). The way I live my faith is to go slow, and steady, working “line upon line, precept upon precept, here a little and there a little” (2 Nephi 28:30). Pressing forward each and every day and meeting all the challenges and obstacles that lie in my path with the knowledge that Heavenly Father will always be there for me. Living my faith is being who I am and working towards becoming who Heavenly Father wants (and needs) me to be.
