Hi I'm Ernie

I am a native of Arizona and been a member of the Church all my life. I love spending time with my family.

About Me

I like stability. I have worked for the same company for 35 years. I enjoy serving in the church. My family is very important to me. I enjoy Fly Fishing and doing things in the water, swimming, snorkeling, body surfing.

Why I am a Mormon

The Gospel of Jesus Christ answers three very important questions for me. Where did I come from? What is my purpose in being here? Where will I go when I die? Jesus Christ paid the ultimate price for all of us by suffering for our sins and then overcoming death so that we can live with him again. I have prayed about Joseph Smith and received an answer to my prayers. I know that he did see the Father and the Son and received many other revelations. I know that through the power of God the Book of Mormon was translated and given to us as a Second Witness of Jesus Christ, the Bible being the First. I know that the Priesthood, (the power and authority to act for God on the earth) has been restored on the earth and that Christ’s Church which he organized when he was on the earth has also been restored, complete with Apostles and a Prophet to guide and direct us. I know that Thomas S. Monson is that Prophet today. This knowledge gives me strength to get through the day. I know that I can go to my Heavenly Father in prayer about anything and he will help me. I also must have faith in him that He will answer my prayers in His time. I know that He loves me and knows what is best for me and my family. I have felt great happiness as I keep the commandments and unhappiness when I stray away from Him. We all want to be happy, that is what we seek, and for me, striving to keep the commandment bring the happiness that I seek.

How I live my faith

Attending Church every Sunday gives me an opportunity to partake of the Sacrament which is a renewal of the covenants made at baptism. I also learn more of the gospel by attending Sunday school classes and priesthood meetings. I feel the Spirit of the Lord every Sunday and that helps to strength my Faith. I also try to read in the scriptures every day and continue to have personal prayer every morning and night. The Church gives me many opportunities to serve others. From teaching little children in Primary, working, playing, and counseling with the youth, to administering and blessing those that are sick.
