Hi I'm Jadeyn

I'm a Seattle-ite, a brain tumor survivor, and a sports lover. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have grown up in the Seattle area all my life and love it! I enjoy sports and doing anything outdoors - hiking, camping, and anything to do with water - boating, tubing, wakeboarding, and swimming. I love my big family of more than I can count - I'm the youngest of seven girls and the Aunt of 15 nieces and nephews, two on the way. Being in a family of so many, I've learned how to be an easygoing fun-loving person. I love meeting new people and getting to know their stories, passions, and personalities. I am now a missionary and love the opportunity I have to get to know more people and invite them unto Christ! When I look back on my life, there are so many things that have worked out because of my Heavenly Father. Recently I had brain surgery to remove a benign tumor. It was the craziest thing that has happened to me up to this point. Thankfully, things worked out and I am back to myself - except for the short hair hiding underneath my long hair on the back of my head :) But I'm not the same because I have been able to be a recipient of a miracle. Only through God was I able to be strengthened and overcome this. I am now a representative for Him and am excited to witness other miracles that come through faith, prayer, and change! I am thankful for my trials because I know they have helped me learn, grow, and progress in this life.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been raised as a member of The Church of Jesus Chris of Latter-day Saints - my parents are Mormon, my grandparents are Mormon, and this church goes all the way back to the pioneer days. But that's not the reason I come to church every week - I come because this church has changed my life and I have had my own personal conversion. I believe everyone needs to have their own change of heart - something that is usually a step by step, gradual change. We just have to do the best we can and always be bettering ourselves. This life is a time of progression and Heavenly Father helps us achieve these things everyday. I'm so grateful for my membership in this church and the testimony I have. I know that it is true. I know that Jesus Christ is the Savior of the world. He atoned for our sins and has felt all our sadness, sorrows, and pain. If we just come to him and do our best, then we can be saved. I know that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God and we have a living prophet today. Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ appeared to Joseph Smith in the sacred grove. He restored the gospel - the New Testament church in Christ's time and he translated the Book Of Mormon. I know that the Book Of Mormon is the word of God - it is about real people that lived and that saw Jesus Christ when he visited the Americas after his Resurrection. It is a powerful book that changes lives and relates to us in our day. I know these things because I have had and continue to have the Holy Ghost testify to me of these true doctrines. One thing we believe in this church is personal revelation - we can receive help and guidance when we pray. There have been many times in my life when I have needed help and Heavenly Father is always there. He has a plan for each of us and when I look back on life I know the reasons He leads me to different places and people. God's hand is present in every aspect of my life and others' lives and I'm thankful to have the eyes to see it.

How I live my faith

In my church, that consists of young single adults, I am able to plan and carry out activities for the other girls. The purpose of these activities is to come closer to Jesus Christ, often by bonding and becoming closer to each other. I am also able to visit two girls each month and share my love of this church with them. One of my favorite parts of living my faith is reading my scriptures, whether it is the Book of Mormon, the Bible, the Doctrine and Covenants, or the words of living prophets. By doing this, I have received many answers to my prayers, as well as increased my knowledge of the principles of this true church. In addition, I try to be loving and caring to the people that surround me. I serve my family by taking care of my nieces and nephews and by being an active member of the family. I strive to look for the good in others and see them as God would see them. I want to help people. In my future career, I want to be able to be an advocate for the one - the people who are often forgotten and cannot help themselves. Many times, I try to volunteer with the Special Olympics because I enjoy being in the presence of these special people and celebrating their personal achievements, no matter how big or small they are. There, no one is compared like we are in the world. I love the feeling of serving people - I believe it is one of the best ways to learn to love them. I live my faith by striving every day to become more and more like my Savior, Jesus Christ.
