Hi I'm Bart

I'm a Mormon living a busy life and glad I have the gospel to give me balance.

About Me

I grew up in Northern Wyoming in a small town of about 500 people. I married my wife Leslie after my senior year in college and we moved to Nebraska where I attended dental school. Leslie taught elementary school to support our family during this time and on completing my degree we moved to Colorado. We have six children, three boys and three girls. As you might imagine, we are busy with their school, sports and other activities. I enjoy my work as a dentist and am grateful that Leslie can be home when the kids arrive after school and when they need her. I enjoy the outdoors, especially fishing and backpacking with our family. I took our oldest son on his first overnight trip when he was six and have been adding family members as they were old enough. We usually go on a three night, ten to fifteen mile trip every summer. Leslie and the "baby" joined us seven years ago and it's been the entire family ever since. We have even added a daughter in law. My favorite days are doing things as a family including chores around the house, eating out or attending our kid's sporting events.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I want to be happy. I have learned in my own life and by watching others that I am the happiest when I live the gospel of Jesus Christ. In today's world many people are trying to find happiness through material things or life styles that draw them away from our Heavenly Father. Unfortunately that doesn't bring fulfillment so they try something else and the cycle continues. When we learn that true contentment comes from serving our families and others then God helps us find that internal peace that only He can give.

How I live my faith

I try to live a practical life that revolves around my family and church. I enjoy my work as a dentist but like to be home the most. I have served on our local school board and volunteered with our kid's athletic teams where I enjoy socializing with other parents of team members. I have been active with our Church Boy Scout troop where my sons are enrolled. Things often don't go the way I have planned but I know if I have faith and am patient things will work out the way He has planned for me. And that is best
