Hi I'm Barbara

I live in Colorado. I am a mother of four children, the two youngest of which have cystic fibrosis. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a full time mother and wife and proud of it. I love taking care of my family. It isn't always easy but I love them and am grateful for the help I receive from my Father in Heaven. In no particular order, I also love classical literature, cross stitching, quiet moments with my husband, exercising in the quiet of the early morning, the smell of the earth after it rains, and interior design. I especially enjoy those impromptu moments when family memories are created.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because the knowledge of the Savior and His Gospel brings me the strength and courage I need to face the negative things that can happen during my life here on earth. It also helps me to know that what I do here matters. I'm Mormon because being one allows me to see the "big picture" and understand: where I came from, why I'm here, and how to gain the keys I need to return to live with my Heavenly Father one day. With the health issues in our family, I am grateful for the Plan of our Heavenly Father and the comfort that it brings my heart knowing that we can be an eternal family.

How I live my faith

I greatly enjoy the Calling of being a mother and take that responsibility seriously. To me, the most important part of being a mother is making sure my children grow up with a knowledge and understanding of the Gospel. This became even more evident when two of my children were diagnosed with a serious disease which will one day claim their lives. I try to make sure my family develops well and grows together by providing the kinds of opportunities that will allow them to learn key life lessons which will help them to be as united, happy, and healthy as possible. This can take the form of Family Night, reading Scriptures together, praying together, and playing together. I also try to follow the example of Jesus Christ by visiting those in my community that would benefit from a kind word, a hot meal, or a spiritual boost.
