Hi I'm Greg

I grew up in different parts of the U.S. as well as in other countries. I now serve in the Air Force and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Although I was born in Texas, I have lived in many different places because my father served in the military. I enjoyed moving around to new places and experiencing different cultures and customs, even though it was often difficult to leave my friends behind. Now as an adult, I too am in the military and I feel blessed to have this opportunity to serve my country. I enjoy reading, movies, running, shooting guns of any kind (mostly shotguns), and playing video games. Right now my goals in life are fairly straight forward. I want to take advantage of the college educational benefits available to me through the military. And when the time is right, I very much want to have a family of my own.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I choose to be. Yes, I was raised in the Mormon church, but I have been living on my own now away from my family for at least 2 years. I choose to be a Mormon and to live according to the standards and teachings of this religion because I know for myself that this church is true. It is the only true church of Jesus Christ on the earth. I know that the teachings of this church are true and I have been blessed in more ways than I can possibly count because of the Gospel of Jesus Christ in my life. I know from many past experiences that when I choose to live in accordance with the standards and teachings of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, then I am happy. I am free from guilt, and free from the heavy burden that always comes from sin. I have that peaceful feeling that only comes when one lives in accordance to the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I am a Mormon because I know that this is the only way to peace and happiness in this life and in the next life.

How I live my faith

I live my faith through my example to others, specifically at work because I spend a great deal of time there with people who are not Mormon. They all know that I am a Mormon and they frequently ask me questions about why I do or don't do certain things, for which I do my best to explain it to them. I still like to go out and have fun with my friends, but we simply have fun without doing things that are against the teachings of the church. Currently, I am a youth Sunday School teacher at church and I love being a youth leader.
