Hi I'm Brian

I grew up in Texas and South Dakota (on a farm). I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a married and have 3 beautiful children. My wife teaches school and I work in the utility industry. I grew up on a farm in South Dakota and about the time I was in 3rd grade, my parents bought a home in Texas. So, every year my family made the 1,000 mile trek between S.D. and Tx. Of course it was S.D. in the summer and Tx. in the winter. My summers were spent working long hours on the farm, harvesting wheat, plowing fields, and cultivating crops. My winters were spent getting an education, playing sports, and just having fun with my friends.

Why I am a Mormon

You know, I can not put a finger on exactly when I knew the Church was true. For me it has been as Elder Bednar explains...like the dawn of the morning. The light or knowledge just continues to grow brighter without knowing exactly when it happens. I know the church is true because I have a testimony of it's principles. My testimony is simply that as I live the teachings and standards of the gospel, my life is better. And yes I feel the promptings of the Holy Spirit telling me it is true. I can not imagine living in today's world without the guiding principles of the gospel in my life.

How I live my faith

I try to live my faith by implementing the things I am taught into my life. If I go to a meeting like sacrament and don't change my life, then I have just gone to another meeting. But if I try to be a little better or aim a little higher, than I am truly being taught by the Spirit and living my faith. I also hold a calling working with the young men in my ward. It is so refreshing to be acquainted with such quality young people, who have an idea of where they came from, why they are here, and where they are going. In essence knowing that this life really does have a purpose.
