Hi I'm Becky

I'm a mom of 5, a wife, a school volunteer, a piano teacher, and I have a weakness for cookies and milk. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have 1 wonderful husband, 2 independent cats (plus a dog), 3 schools I deal with, 4 minutes of free time per day (or it seems like it), and 5 terrific children (2 boys and 3 girls). I like cooking, snacking, listening to music, playing the piano, and animals. I enjoy helping in my children's classes, trying new recipes, (in hopes of finding something healthy my children like), reading, and talking with my sisters on the phone. I love having my husband as my best friend. I have been married for 20 years, have three teenagers at home, and am learning what it takes to train a shelter dog to integrate into our family. Some of my favorite times are when I am with family- whether it is exercising with my sister long distance over the phone or hanging out with my kids in the kitchen playing games and snacking late at night. I teach piano and love to share my love for music with others. I also enjoy hiking, camping, and a good nights sleep (one of 8 hours or more-that's pretty rare though). I love seeing others learn and progress. I love working with kids in a church or community setting, and love connecting with them.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in a strong Mormon community. I am the youngest of 6 children. I was taught the principles of the Mormon church and loved going each Sunday. As I grew older I decided that I needed to find out if what my parents had taught me was true. I read scriptures and prayed to ask if it was true. I always felt good about things, that it was right, and from that and other experiences I decided to serve a mission. I served in Argentina, and during that time, my faith and values were tested and opposed. I prayed and studied more to know with certainty if this religion is true. I got my answer one night after praying and know that it is true and right. The gospel has blessed my life in so many ways. It has given me perspective when my Mom passed away, and has given me direction at tough times in my life. It's my anchor in a shifting world.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying to serve others whether it be volunteering in the school, being a good neighbor, or serving the children in our congregation. I'm constantly trying to evaluate how I treat people and try to treat them how I would love to be treated. I make mistakes often, but I pick myself up and keep trying. I'm grateful for a loving Father in Heaven and a Savior who makes this all possible.
