Hi I'm Shayne

I'm a father. I'm a dentist. I coach a kid's competitive robotics team. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a father of four sons. So this pretty much explains how I spend my time. I work as a dentist, but when I'm not working, I'm with my sons. We enjoy hiking and camping. I participate in their scouting activities. I also love to travel. I love seeing new cities and learning how different and how similar other people in this world are.

Why I am a Mormon

Even though I have always been a Mormon (my parents were Mormons and raised me from a child in the church), my choice to be a Mormon is a deliberate one. From a young age, I felt a strong spiritual feeling when participating in church. This feeling continues even today as I attend my church meetings and study the scriptures, and serve others. I attribute this great spiritual feeling to God's communication with me, telling me that I am on the right track, doing something good and true. This feeling guides how I live and practice my faith. I have felt this testifying feeling consistently enough now for me to actually KNOW, that God lives. I know He loves me, and all human kind as His children. He blesses my life with peace and often with solutions to the many problems that life bring to us.

How I live my faith

My faith is involved in many aspects of my life. It is central to everything that I do. In a very personal way, my faith directs many of my daily habits. I pray several times a day. I study the scriptures, including the Bible but also the Book of Mormon. I fast once a month. I also pay tithing (donations) to the church. These routines help to center my daily activities with my family and also in my work. It is my goal to treat others with love, honesty, integrity and respect. My faith and daily habits help to keep these values center in my everyday activities.
