Hi I'm Julia

I am a stay at home mom. I love singing, playing piano, and reading. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I come from a large family. There are 9 kids (eight girls, one boy). Currently, there are 15 neices and nephews. We have more on the way and probably more still to come. I have been married to my high school sweet heart for almost 20 years. Although I haven't always been, I am a "Stay at Home Mom". My husband and I have worked so that I am able to stay home to take care of our four kids. We have one girl and three boys. I enjoy singing, playing the piano, and reading. When I was younger, I was in the high school marching band and played the clarinet. I still play it occassionally, when I have time.

Why I am a Mormon

I have always felt that my family is the "Typical Mormon Family". My father served a mission in Italy for two years. My parents met at Brigham Young University. They were married in the Salt Lake Temple and proceded to have 9 children and have been married for over 40 years. Even though I've been a member my whole life, I haven't always been an active member. I think everyone has struggled with their faith at one time or another. I am no exception. My conversion to the "Mormon" way of life has been an ongoing process. The turning point for me was when President Gordan B Hinckley gave a challenge to read the Book of Mormon by a certain date. I accepted the challenge. I read everyday, studying the Book of Mormon. I was struggling through some things and the answers to my problems were in the scriptures. I continued to read and ponder and the spirit gave me the knowledge to know that this is Christ's true church upon the earth. I know that Joseph Smith was a true prophet of God. He saw Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ in the Sacred Grove. Through the spirit, he translatted the Book of Mormon so that we could have a better understanding of the teachings of Christ.

How I live my faith

My grandfather always said that I had the ability to put myself in other people's shoes. I am able to empathize with others in order to help them feel better, learn, and grow. I think I've always had a serving heart. Whether it's choosing the music for Sunday, planning the Christmas program, or teaching young children. I love serving God's children. I am continually striving to be an instrument for my Heavenly Father and his Son, Jesus Christ. "And it came to pass that I, Nephi, said unto my father: I will go and do the things which the Lord hath commanded, for I know that the Lord giveth no commandments unto the children of men, save he shall prepare a way for them that they may accomplish the thing which he commandeth them." 1 Nephi 3:7 in the Book of Mormon
