Hi I'm Debbie

I'm a wife, mom, grandmother, sister and friend. I was raised in Kansas City, but recently moved to Arizona. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Until recently I was a sales rep for a home medical equipment company. I traveled about 100 miles each day to visit my accounts. My real passion is my family. I love being a wife to my wonderful husband. Together we enjoy watching movies, stargazing, learning more about the Gospel of Jesus Christ and just being together. I have loved being a mother and especially love being a grandmother. It is so much fun to see our children parenting their own children. I love to sew, cook (especially baking), decorating my home and organizing. I also enjoy traveling and have been to many places in the United States. I treasure my friendships whether they are new or old. I try to learn something new each day! Life is truly a blessing!

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in another Christian religion. My parents did a great job making sure we were in church frequently and I was taught to love my Savior. As I grew up I realized that there were questions that I wanted answers to, but no one seemed to be able to provide the answers I needed. For example; I wanted to know where I came from. I had always had a sense that this earthly life was just a continuation of an earlier existence. I also wondered why, if our families were so important to us here on earth why we couldn't have that same connection after this life was over. And, finally, I felt that there had to be a church, somewhere out there that really taught what Christ wanted us to know. So, when I was in high school I began searching for my answers. I met with and interviewed pastors from many different religions, asking my questions and hoping to find the truth. When I met with Bishop Allred from the Mormon Church I felt something different. As he talked to me I could feel a warmth come over me. He gave me answers to my questions. Later I met with two young men who were serving as full-time missionaries for the Mormon church and was taught weekly lessons to help me understand more. I was baptized into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints a few weeks later. I am so grateful to be a member of the LDS Church, for the knowledge I have of my Savior, Jesus Christ and the blessings that have come into my life since then.

How I live my faith

My faith is who I am! I work with the young women in my congregation (ages 12-18) helping them with their Personal Progress. This is a program that helps teenage girls understand their worth, set goals, maintain high moral standards, learn to serve others, to love their families and to follow the example of Jesus Christ. I also spend time each month visiting several women from church. I visit them in their homes and present a spiritual and uplifting message. I look for opportunities to help others whenever I can. I find great joy in giving and lifting the burdens of those who need help.

Are Mormons Christians?

Debbie
I am Mormon and I am very much a Christian. I follow the teaching of Jesus Christ as found in the New Testament and The Book of Mormon. I model my life after the Savior's life. Jesus Christ is the head of our church and the Redeemer of mankind. Show more Show less
