Hi I'm Pat.

I'm the wife of a wonderful husband, a mom, a business owner, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a wife, mother and grandmother. My husband and I have a blended family with 10 children. We own a small business that we run together with the children that we have living at home. Our business keeps me busy, and I love that we are together as family as we work. I live in a small town and I love the peace and quiet, and the stars that shine so bright at night. I love to read, but find it hard to find the time. I love music, and singing, and camping with my family. I love swinging in the swing that hangs from the big oak tree in our front yard. I like to crochet, and I have a goal to improve my sewing skills – along with many other skills I need to improve!

Why I am a Mormon

It is amazing to me how the experiences and trials that we go through in this life, as difficult as it is to go through them, somehow build us to the people that our Heavenly Father wants us to become. I grew up in a loving LDS home, and have always had a strong testimony of my Savior, Jesus Christ, and of a loving Father in Heaven. Although I wasn’t perfect growing up, I always wanted do what is right, and my goals were always centered around one day having my own family to raise in the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I married in the temple, and as we began to have children, I felt I was achieving those goals. When I found myself a few years later going through a divorce, and raising my three children by myself, I felt lost. I still had a conviction of the love my Heavenly Father had for me, but I was confused as to how I could still fit into His plan. During that time I learned so much about myself. And, I learned even more about the love of our Savior, and how the Atonement not only makes it possible for us to repent of our own sins, but that it compensates for the actions of others that bring heartache into our lives. I learned that, no matter what my circumstances are, as long as I am trying to live the commandments and doing the best I can, I will have all the blessings that Heavenly Father has for me. The only place to find happiness in this life is through living the teachings of our Savior, Jesus Christ. Obedience to His teaching brings freedom, and a peace that will carry us through the trials that are part of our existence on the earth. I would never want to be without that peace. My membership in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the greatest blessing in my life. I know it is the truth.

How I live my faith

Being a member of this church has given me so many opportunities to serve, which has given me the chance to learn, grow and improve. Right now I serve as a music chairman, and I am responsible for selecting the music that is sung and presented during our meetings. I also lead the music for the meetings, and occasionally direct the choir. Previously I have been able to serve with the young children, and with the young women as a teacher, and leader. I have also taught Sunday lessons in the women’s organization. But, living my faith is more that the responsibilities that I have as I serve in our Sunday meetings, it is the way I live each day. I try to treat people the way the Savior would like me to, and try to deal honestly in our business, and just live the best way I know how.
