Hi I'm Cina

I am a wife, mother, sister, daughter, friend and employee. I became a Mormon while attending college.

About Me

I grew up in Texas, Michigan, Brussels, Belgium and finished high school in Minnesota. I attended college in Colorado and continued to move about the western United States until returning to Colorodo a number of years ago. Moving has taught me to get involved as soon as I arrive at my new home. I have learned to find the beauty of each new area and appreciate its character. The faster I can become assimilated into my new area the less likely I am to complain about what I miss from my previous home. I enjoy doing family history, reading and attending the theatre.

Why I am a Mormon

Although I was raised as a protestant and always felt a very strong desire to be close to my Father in Heaven I had deep rooted beliefs that were not reflective of the teaches I heard at church. When I met members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and learned what they believed I was thrilled. FINALLY someone else believed what my heart had always told me was true. The most important teachings to me were that God, Jesus Christ and the Holy Ghost were three separate and distinct beings who are one in purpose and that families could, and should be together forever. When I read and prayed about the Books or Mormon, I knew it was true as well. That meant that Joseph Smith had to be a prophet and who was I to “tell God” that a farm boy from New York couldn’t be a prophet. I couldn’t learn fast enough.

How I live my faith

When I was baptised I was told that the Gift of the Holy Ghost could be like a filter that would help me descern truth and error throughout my life and that living the principles of the gospel should be an every day, all day long practice and not just a Sunday way of living. I have found that to be true. I can no more separate who I am from what I believe that I can stop breathing. The older I become the more I know that I must reply on the spirit in order to become the person I want to become. We are a church that believes that every member can help teach, nurture and befriend the other members. We are asked to serve in various church organinzations, like the Sunday School, in order that all may learn and grow. I have served in every organization possible and served the children, teen agers and adults. Each "calling" has helped me learn and grow and brought me great blessings. It hasn't always been easy or even fun sometimes, but it has always been a valuable learning experience.
