Hi I'm Danica

I hike, bike, sing and draw. I enjoy remodeling projects. I've been happily married for 13 years. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love to be out in nature: mountains, streams, waterfalls, trails and the sound of the wind in the trees...those are some of my favorite places to be. I take favorite people with me too. My husband, children and good friends are all excellent hiking buddies. We look for elk, moose, and other animals. As a family we keep track of the birds we've spotted and record them in our special book. Yes! I did say children. Our home has been blessed with 4 and I feel lucky to have them here. We love books in our family just like bees love flowers. We read all kinds of books and frequent the library often. In my personal time I draw birds, trees and other things. I play the piano just enough to have a pocket full of lovely favorite songs to play in quiet moments. When it's time to sleep I'll often sing to my children or read them a good book.

Why I am a Mormon

I've spent time learning about different cultures and styles of living. I've put thoughtful investigation into the teachings of the church. I have prayed about it. I know it's true. I've felt my whole life that Jesus Christ knows who I am. I feel closer to the Lord as I live the teachings of His church and pay attention to the teachings of the current Prophet, Thomas S. Monson. I discovered that all the keys to a better life are taught by Jesus and in His church. I live the commandments because I want a better life. I feel that day by day I'm becoming the best I can be. My life is more peaceful and fulfilling because of the love I've felt from God and the healthy living habits I've established from the teachings of the Prophets.

How I live my faith

I view the world in a better light because of the church. I have learned to set aside some of the things I'd like to do and spend time serving other people like Jesus did. Watching out for others honestly makes me happier. I try and slow down and look for ways that I can lift and encourage my friends, family and other people I meet. I live my religion in every prayer, weekly at church, in every scripture verse I read and every time I respect the differences of the people around me. I teach children values and ethical behavior at home and at church. I teach them to be their very best, do their very best and to find the good in others. We talk about the world and the many excellent choices and opportunities the children have. We spend time learning about Jesus Christ, prayer, and scripture stories from the Holy Bible and the Book of Mormon. More than anything I love and respect our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. The more I live His standards and teachings, the happier I am. He helps me with all my personal struggles and hard times. I have a greater sense of personal dignity and self worth because of how God helps me see myself. He loves you too. Have you talked to him recently?
