Hi I'm Janet Mckeen

I'm a Mormon. I am in my early 50's and my life has been shaped by my belief in Jesus Christ and his teachings.

About Me

Hi, my name is Janet, and I am proud to say that I am the mom to 6 wonderful kids, and the wife to a very caring husband. I have been recently working 3 different jobs as a nurse, and I have discovered recently that I love being around people. I love sports, or the memory of when I was good at sports. Now a days, I'm a passive participant. I love my 3 grandchildren, they bring so many smiles into my life.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because it just makes sense. If you knew of a way to bring joy and happiness into your life, wouldn't you do what you needed to do to have that happiness in YOUR LIFE? When I served a mission in South America in the 80's, my eyes were opened to all the unhappiness that many people live with. Mainly brought on by their own bad choices, or that of their parents. So, with those memories, I have chosen to try my hardest to give my family the best opportunities to reach their potential in this life and the life to come.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by accepting callings that I have received, and also recognizing the needs of others around me and help them out whenever possible. My calling is in the Young Womens sports program. I organize Volleyball and Basketball games between the different units. I love to see the fun the girls are having, while learning the value of good sportsmanship. Even though we say the Young Womens theme at the beginning of each game, it does not lose its importance in my eyes as the girls are also constantly being reminded of the values that are important to their Father in Heaven: Faith, Divine Nature, Individual Worth, Knowledge, Choice and Accountability, Good Works and Integrity.
