Hi I'm Carly

I grew up in Arizona and joined the church when I was in High School. I am now married and have 2 little girls.

About Me

I am a wife and a mom to 2 beautiful little girls. I work from home here and there with my husband, mostly when he needs my help. As a family, we like to get out and see new things. We love going to street fairs, museums, concerts, and anything else that gets us out into our community. We also love taking trips, especially to the beach! I like learning new skills, taking classes, and reading as well. Of course, there is always shopping and eating too!

Why I am a Mormon

I joined the church, because I was looking for something more. I was raised Catholic, but attended a variety of churches with different friends as well. I really liked the LDS church, because of the spirit it has. I didn't find another church that promoted personal growth and development like this one. I've seen other churches with advertisements stating, "no perfect people allowed." I've also attended other churches where immoral behavior is justified for a variety of reasons due to human weaknesses. The LDS church sees the innate goodness in people and encourages constant growth to overcome individual weaknesses. I am far from perfect, but it is nice to be a part of something where the bar is raised, a little more is expected, and mediocrity is not justified.

How I live my faith

It is very important to me to go to church and other weekly meetings to learn more about the gospel and to serve others. Every Sunday my family and I go to church. Sunday is my favorite day. It gives me time to think about what is really important in life. I don't turn on the TV, run errands, or allow myself to be distracted by the things that compete for my attention during the week. Every Monday evening we have a family night. My husband and I try to teach our little girl a lesson about Jesus, being a good person, or something else that one of us has been learning about at church. We show our daughter that learning is important in this life, and that learning as a family helps us grow stronger together. I also like to go to a Bible Study class just for women once a week. It's a nice break during the week to get back on track! Throughout the week I also get opportunities to help people with childcare, bringing meals to people going through a variety of challenges, visiting with other women who feel alone, etc.
