Hi I'm Hannah (Hah-nuh)

I am going to serve a full-time mission and I want to be a dance choreographer. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am 19 years old and attending a university in Idaho where I am currently studying dance. I am the 7th of 10 children and love being with my loud crazy family. I play the trombone and sing and love reading Jane Austen and science fiction novels. I hope to one day become a dance choreographer and start my own company spreading my faith and light across the world. In exactly 1 year, 2 months, and 28 days I will be turning in my papers to serve a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, and I couldn't be more excited to share my testimony of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints!

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up being a Mormon. We went to church every Sunday and activities every Wednesday. I never really questioned because it was just the thing I had always known. But then Senior year in high school came and I decided to take an advanced speech class. In it we often had discussions and on this one occasion the topic had been about "good" and "evil." A boy in my class began to illustrate how there was no "good" or "evil." What may seem "evil" to us, like stealing food, is "good" from the perspective of a starving father trying to feed his 2 little sons. This thought had never occurred to me before, and it began to take over my mind. If there was no evil there could be no good and so there could be no God. Everything I was ever taught was a lie! One night while we were vacationing in our little cottage in Florida I hit the lowest point of my entire life. I had just finished a book where a 12 year old girl had been raped and murdered and I thought, "If this isn't evil I don't want to be a part of this world." I then got down next to the bed my sister sleeping 4 feet away from me, got down to my knees, and began to pray with all my strength. "I don't know who I am anymore or if I have been praying to nothing all of these years. I am surrounded by a world of darkness. God, tell me if you are there and if there is any light. I will kneel here all night if that is what it takes." And so I knelt and waited for an answer or lack of an answer. Not 10 seconds after I was done with my prayer I felt a numbness spread throughout my body. And then it came. The most powerful feeling I have ever felt in my entire life. It was more powerful than love, more powerful than hate. It trickled down from the top of my head to deep inside my chest. Tears were streaming down my face and I was lying flat on my back from the sheer power of it. It was a love far greater than anything of this world proclaiming "I am here." Pray. Ask. God wants to be found!

How I live my faith

I live my faith not by tearing others faith down but by building on them. Any church that tears another down is not the true church of God. I love learning about different religions and how much truth they do have. There are some truly beautiful religions out there, and I love to show them even more truth. I have taught the 5-7 year olds in my church where I learned the beauty of the simple testimonies of children, and have also taught college age girls as well. I love this gospel and for any of you who feel like you don't know who you are or whether there is a God I am here to tell you God exists! I am here to tell you that he knows and loves you. You are his child and he will never ever forget you. I am willing to die for this fact. You cannot rely on my testimony alone for you have to ask for yourself, and then you will find him. This is my solemn promise to you in the name of Jesus Christ I proclaim this testimony, amen.

Do you really believe there is a prophet like Moses alive today?

Hannah (Hah-nuh)
I believe that with all of my heart. God could not love his children if he did not allow a prophet to reveal his word as it relates to us today. Scripture is a wonderful foundation for everything but what about the small day to day temptations that come at us everyday. If they needed a prophet after Jesus was crucified they need a prophet now, and President Thomas S. Monson is a true prophet of God. Look at his works and you will see that this is a man of God.
