Hi I'm C. Dale Willis, Sr.

An Arizona native, I grew up ranching, farming, playing football and riding bulls when I was young...much younger! I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I remember when Chandler and Gilbert, Arizona had fewer houses and more cattle...fewer paved roads and more fields of cotton, corn and alfalfa. I remember growing 3,000 acres of cotton in fields loaded with rattlesnakes. I remember raising two young sons raking hay in the middle of the night and watching them grow into the fine men and fathers they are today...watching my daughter grow into a beautiful woman and mother. I'm retired now and I have slowed down a bit but I have a couple of steers and horses in the pasture to remind me of the past...and the only farming I do now is taking care of the yard and the "honey do" list.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the church and went as a boy but I gained a real testimony of the gospel when I went to North Carolina on a mission. I served as a Branch President (Leader) to those in the Cherokee Indian nation and grew to love those people. I think of them often. I have a tesimony of this gospel...I know that I have a Savior who loves me and I love Him. I know that my Heavenly Father knows who I am and He listens to my prayers. I know that Joseph Smith was a prophet and that we have a prophet today, Thomas S. Monson, who directs us in the matters of our faith. As someone who has had the priveledge of being a Bishop or Leader of a ward, I know that the Lord directs his people by inspiration and that prayers work. Remember that, prayers work.

How I live my faith

I have been a Bishop or ward leader twice, once with a family ward and once as the leader of a single adult ward...the best time I ever had in any assignment I've had in the church. Believe me, you have to be on your toes and have a good sense of humor with those kids! Now I serve as a worker in the Mesa, Arizona temple and I love this assignment, too. I'll do what ever the Lord wants me to do...and I'll make a few new friends doing it!
