Hi I'm Cari

I am a daughter, sister, wife, mom, grammy and friend and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the middle daughter of two sisters. I first saw my husband in the fifth grade feeding an ice cream cone to his dog outside the drugstore in our small town. We have been married for 33 years. In November of 1999 my husband had an 18 hour surgery, removing a brain tumor. I am thankful he survived and has a great sense of humor and never complains about some of the nerve damage he was left with. My life changed alot. I got my Real Estate license and have loved learning something new and I love people. We have one daughter and two sons. We have six grandsons and more on the way. My favorite thing in the whole world is to be in a room with our family and friends telling stories and laughing. I like new adventures and making good memories. I love the smell of fresh baked bread, morning walks, sunsets, clean sheets, soft pillows, and every minute with grandkids.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents were members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints but we never went as a family. My parents must have thought it was important for us to go to church (which I am so grateful to them for this) so they made sure we were baptized and they would drop me and my two sisters off about twice a year. I always felt something woderful and different there. My parents let me go to all other churches with my friends growing up but when I went to the Mormon church there was a different feeling. Later in my life I read the Book of Mormon and when I did, I recognized that same feeling. I have had some experiences during prayer which brought the same feeling back. This year in January we lost a grandson. I was with my son and daughter in-law when our sweet Lukie passed away. It was the hardest thing I have ever witnessed, but I felt something that could not be possible in a situation that was so tragic unless, there is more than just this life. I had never felt so much peace and love in all my life. I know we have a Father in Heaven and His son Jesus Christ, who loves us. They want us to live with them again. We have been given every tool that can make that happen. We have the scriptures, a prophet that lives on this Earth to lead us, and temples to receive ordinances in, so that we can be with our families forever. I am grateful for the knowledge that I have gained in my life through the Holy Ghost.

How I live my faith

I keep trying to be a little bit better. I try to be honest, kind and happy. I try to be aware of those around me and show them love and respect and if I can, reach out to anyone that might need something that I can offer. I also try to make sure that I read the scriptures and say my prayers and think about the gifts the Savior has given me.
