Hi I'm Collins

LDS, AP, TD, DL, but not VL. My character matters more than my acronyms, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I went to high school. While there I started an online TV station, a real radio station, and did panoramic photography. I LOVED to do it. Things I did not do well in High School, MATH. Wow. I can't believe I passed math. It's really hard to do things you're not motivated to do. I went to BYU. I worked at BYU Broadcasting. I loved what I did (still) and learned a lot about life, but not quite everything, so I've gone on a mission. That should get me the rest of the knowledge I need, right? My family is a huge support to me, and they will always back me up when I need it. My family means everything to me. I could say my happiness comes from my computer, from my friends, from my iPod, from having freedom and being at college, or even from my job that takes me across the country. That's all fleeting though. It's temporary -- happiness comes from my family. They love me even when I don't show it. They love me even when it's 6 AM and I have to go to seminary and I'm not the most cuddly person. I love them too. Family. That's where it's at.

Why I am a Mormon

I started out Mormon because my family was Mormon. I was "born into it." I studied, read about it, and everything made total sense. I looked to heaven to back me up, and they never turned me away. I read the Book of Mormon and it felt great. Church felt great. Going to Conference felt great. Every single thing in the church helped me to be better, follow Jesus Christ, and be clean of my sins. That, my friend, is a great religion. I am a Mormon because it's the church that Jesus Christ wants everybody on earth to be in. I know that for sure. Why not be a Mormon? They're super duper nice and cook amazing food. Take it from somebody who knows.

How I live my faith

Right now I live my faith by preaching the gospel. Literally, I walk around, ride bikes, wear a little black name tag. I'm sure you've seen me around. I’m everywhere and my name is Elder. I’m just hanging it down here in New Mexico (part of a TEXAS MISSION, I know, right?) and, as they call it in missionary slang, “TEARING IT UP DOWN HERE” which is to say I’m playing a LOT of Frisbee golf, eating a LOT of ramen, and teaching a LOT of lessons with members present. I live my faith by keeping the commandments. It’s simple as that.
