Hi I'm Kelli

Born and raised in a farming community. Still living here (a hubby and 4 kids later) and loving it. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was raised by a farmer. I have 8 siblings. I'm an identical twin, 5 minutes younger than my sister. My mom was a nurse although she only worked as a sub at our schools growing up which was fun to see her throughout the day. I got married when I was 20 years old. I always knew I wanted to be a mom and stay home with my kids. At one point I wanted to be a teacher, and after these my kids are raised and gone...maybe I will be. I also wanted to be a police officer. Ironic I married one. I'm now 29 years old. We have 4 kids that keep me BUSY. I'm a blogger. I love love love it. It's a release from being an on-the-go mom and creating something new [usually during naptime or late at night] really warms my soul! I love inspiring others and helping them spruce up their space on the cheap. I was raised to be frugal and I still apply those habits when raising my family. I don't love to cook but I do it nightly and I always bake cookies on Sunday. Blogging, desserts & Diet Coke are a big part of raising my family (:

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the church and never questioned it, although I was a bit of a rowdy teenager. After high school, my twin & I moved from AZ to MN. We got jobs and an apartment and enjoyed being young adults. It was there in a low member area that I knew the church was true for myself. I read the Book of Mormon religiously every morning and every night and I prayed throughout the day. I gained a deep testimony of the Gospel and also of Joseph Smith. I have relied heavily on Heavenly Father since then. I know He is always there. Being a mom now, I'm amazed and how he let his son give the ultimate sacrifice for unworthy souls like mine. I try to comprehend Him watching his son on the cross and letting him go through the pain, all the while being mocked. It's tender and sad at the same time. I am grateful.

How I live my faith

I love going to church on the weekends. My husband doesn't attend with me as he's a police officer and works weekends. It's hard taking the kids by myself. Three hours is a long time being alone! However, they're not with me exclusively for three hours. They attend their Sunday School classes for two of the three hours and I trust they're being taught by their wonderful teachers. I also teach Sunday School to the 10 year olds boys and girls. I teach eight kids and I really adore each of them. I love how eager they are to learn what I'm responsible for teaching them. I admire them for standing up for what's right in their daily lives. I admire them for being great examples to their peers. Sometimes these young kids know more about me when it comes to the Bibles parables and it shocks me and makes me happy at the same time.
