Hi I'm Charlie

I'm a Mormon. I live in Arizona, with my wife and 5 kids. We are grateful for the teachings of the LDS faith in our lives.

About Me

I was raised in Arizona and love the state. I am married to a wonderful woman who is a brilliant wife, mother, and friend. I enjoy being with my family. I was raised by parents who instilled a deep sense of honor, patriotism, loyalty, and honesty. I am from a family of 9 boys, all of whom are Eagle Scouts, and have served or are currently serving a church mission. Growing up in such an environment was often a great deal of fun. We raised livestock, did 4H, roped, and found ways to have fun, but stay out of trouble. I now enjoy (still) being with my family. We geocache, shoot guns, camp, and swim. I love to fly as I have a private pilots license.

Why I am a Mormon

My posterity for generations have been members. I was raised a mormon but that didn't preclude me from gaining a personal desire to know if what I had been taught was correct, or if it was something that I personally believed. Late in my teen years I found that I needed to come to a decision as to my own beliefs. I did just as many people who are converts. I fasted, prayed, and studied. I came to a knowledge that what I had been taught was what the Lord wanted me to know, that this was his church here upon the earth.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by faithfully attending on Sundays, and other days as needed. I get to work with our youth programs. Those programs help the youth to avoid some of the pitfalls of youth. We help to organize activities and events that draw the youth closer to their Heavenly Father.

What is the Word of Wisdom that Mormons talk about?

We believe it is a law of health. Excercise, eating health, and in moderation are suggested, but also avoiding those things that would harm our body. The use of alcohol, tobacco, tea, coffee, and illegal drugs are against the Word of Wisdom. They can cause physical harm or take away our inhibitions and create a situation where we could harm others. Show more Show less
