Hi I'm Chealse

I grew up in a military family traveling the world. I'm a nurse with a passion for serving people. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Growing up in a military family provided me with an abundance of experiences that I will forever cherish. I've lived in Missouri, Louisiana, Kansas, Texas, and my personal favorite, Germany. I've traveled all over Europe with my family and dream of someday taking my own children to those places I built memories as a child. I met my husband, Dan, in our mutual institute class. I was a freshman running track and cross country while also playing "army" in the ROTC program. Dan, on the other hand, was a returned missionary and an extremely brilliant Junior Microbiology student. When I first noticed Dan, I instantly fell head over hills. He was the whole package--smart, funny, good looking, and very spiritual. Part way into the semester, I was dying to go on a date with Dan and since he wasn't doing the asking, I decided I'd better ask him on a date. Our first date was a total blast. We had a great time being scared at local haunted houses and then breakfast for dinner at Denny's. It was perfect minus the fact that Dan didn't ask me out on another date afterwards. I was bummed. A week later, however, while I was studying I heard a knock at the door and sure enough it was Dan asking me on a rock climbing date. I was thrilled! Everything after that fell into place. Four years later, we're here in Omaha. I'm finally a nurse, and Dan's still in school. We're still chasing after our dreams.

Why I am a Mormon

Through my many moves, I've learned that people are what matter, not places. It doesn't matter where I've lived, my family has always been right there with me. Cheering me on to become the best person I can. Growing up in many different wards has taught me that the gospel of Jesus Christ is the same where ever you go. The people may be different but the teachings are all the same. The Holy Ghost testifies of the truthfulness of all things regardless of whether my home is in Omaha or Heidelberg, Germany. Through this understanding, I've developed a strong testimony of the restoration of the gospel. The gospel of Jesus Christ has been restored to the earth in this dispensation and is the same gospel that Christ first established upon the earth.

How I live my faith

I feel that service is one of the ways I live my faith. Dan and I have had the opportunity to serve in many capacities within the church. Currently, I am teaching the one to three year old children. I love every minute I get to spend with Heavenly Father's sweet sons and daughters. I also strive to be a positive example to my friends and family. Through growing up in communities where not many LDS people lived, I struggled to be bold and dare to stand alone. It was hard. Those who set good examples for me in keeping the commandments, regardless of what other's may have thought, helped me to gain a desire to so as well. I strive to be that example for others.
