Hi I'm Tammy Wonnacott

I'm a Mormon and I am a native of Colorado. I have been married for 25 years and have 3 children. I love the Broncos!

About Me

My great great Grandfather was born in Boulder Colorado and our family has been here ever since. I love to ski and hike, we have a log cabin in Frisco, Colorado. My kids love to ski and snowmobile and are better than me at almost everything. I graduated from BYU with a degree in Broadcast Journalism and had my first job in Amarillo, Texas. I was hired as a reporter but became the weather anchor after a few weeks. I learned as much as I could about meteorology, because I was working and living in Tornado alley. I came to love the weather and enjoyed working in that field. I still love to watch the skies and I love the weather channel. My husband is a huge BYU fan, and we travel to lots of sporting events. He has been a football season ticket holder since he was 16, that's been 36 years! ( he hasn't lived in Utah for 30 years) You'd think we would have better seats than we do! My children are all BYU fans and attend college in Provo. My oldest son was recently married and now lives in Colorado.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born a member of the church, but gained my own testimony when I was very young. I have known it was true since I was 12. I simply prayed and asked. It seems so simple and it really is. You just have to ask. There is so much out there to distract us from what life is really about and whats really important. I love the saying that we are spiritual beings having a human experience. With that perspective it's so easy to understand the importance of our spirituality and the plan our Heavenly Father has for us. I love knowing that I am a daughter of God and that he knows me, and wants me to be happy. He has given me the the plan of salvation so that I can return from my sojourn here on earth and live with him again. I want the great gift of eternal life and exaltation and that's why I'm a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I have been an early morning seminary teacher for 4 years. I have had the opportunity to teach the youth of today about the importance of God in their lives. I am sure that I am the one who did most of the learning. Teaching is an awesome responsibility and I take it very seriously. I have studied the Bible, both the New and Old Testaments. I have studied the Book of Mormon and the Doctrine and Covenants and I love how each book compliments and testifies of the other. I try to be a good neighbor and friend.
