Hi I'm Craig

I grew up in small town Indiana. I'm a college graduate, a United States Air Force veteran, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I currently work for a consulting firm, providing analytic services to clients. I was a linguist in the United States Air Force when my wife and I were blessed with our youngest child. She and her three older siblings (teen-girl, teen-boy, and "tween"-girl) provide my wife and I with a constant source of education, opportunity, activity, and amusement. I speak several different Slavic and Romance languages, specializing in Russian and Italian, and occasionally dabbling in English. In my spare time I write fiction, some of which I may even submit for publishing someday. I also enjoy writing the occasional song, singing, cooking, eating (bacon is awesome), reading, solving puzzles, playing board & card games, and tabletop miniature war-gaming.

Why I am a Mormon

My mother was raised a Lutheran, my father a Methodist. They raised my brothers and me as Latter Day Saints. We grew up in rural Indiana in a place and time where/when few people had even heard of "the Mormons" or "Latter Day Saints", and fewer still had any inkling that they might have been the same thing. Through many experiences growing up in this environment, some alone and personal, and others shared with family and friends, I felt the love that my savior, Jesus Christ, has for me. I began to learn the truths of his gospel. I'm still learning them now, decades later. I'm still a Mormon because I know the church to be of God, and I know the Book of Mormon to contain his truth. I know that by following its teachings, I can be a better husband, father, brother, son, friend, and person. I can be happy, and I can be together with my family forever. I'm a Mormon because I know that my father in heaven wants me to be a Mormon. I'm a Mormon because I want to be a Mormon. I'm a Mormon because of the way I feel when I live the teachings of the church. It feels right.

How I live my faith

I live my faith the best way I can. I live it with my family, I live it alone, I live it at work, I live it at church, I live it at home. I visit people in their homes, and welcome them into my own. I teach the occasional class, and help out in other ways when I can. I live my faith imperfectly, but I learn and grow with each mistake, and strive to be better in everything I do. Sometimes I even succeed. I pray... a lot. I need to pray more. I live my faith the best way I can.
