Hi I'm Kristen

I have a husband, five kids, and a grapevine. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My dad was in the military, but was stationed on the east coast of the United States for 12 years, so that's where I say I grew up. My mother loved American History, so I traveled all over the east coast to American History sites, which helped fuel my patriotism for my country. I love freedom and I appreciate those who have died to protect it. I love to learn. I enjoy reading classic literature. I love spending time with my family. I enjoy cooking and baking. I like serving others. I love to talk with my friends.

Why I am a Mormon

When I was a kid the prophet was Ezra Taft Benson, he encouraged the children to read the Book of Mormon. I was impressed that he cared about me as a child and decided to try it. I read it one time all the way through, it was very hard and I didn't understand it being so young, but because the prophet asked us to do it, I decided to read it again. During my second reading of the Book of Mormon I began to develop a testimony of the truths it contains. I knew it was true because of the warm, joyful feelings I had in my heart. My testimony of Jesus Christ was strengthened and I knew that he speaks to prophets who are called to teach us. I believed the truths that Nephi, and Alma, and Ammon, and Abinadi were teaching. I developed a great love for the scriptures. Today I have a great desire to follow my Savior Jesus Christ. I am beginning to understand his love. I know following him brings happiness in this life and eternal life in the next, and that's why I'm a mormon.

How I live my faith

I teach the woman's group at church which helps my beliefs grow as I study the scriptures and the words of the prophets. I live my faith by studying my scriptures. I pray each day and try to follow the promptings of the Holy Ghost. I try to follow the teachings of the Savior, Jesus Christ and the words of his prophets. I work hard to teach my children these things, so that they will grow up loving and serving those around them. I try to be humble to know what the Savior would have me do and then have the faith to do it. My faith is who I am, and what I hope to be, it gives me direction for everything I do in life.

What do Mormons believe about the nature of God?

We believe in the Godhead. Three separate beings who have one purpose: our eternal welfare. God the Father is our Heavenly Father. He is the father of our spirits and he loves us. He has a body that looks like ours. We were made in his image. Jesus Christ is our Savior, he is our eldest brother. He also has a body. The third member is the Holy Ghost, a personage of spirit.
