Hi I'm Devin Jaksina

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm going to college to try and be a nurse that's my main goal right now. Also, I love playing rugby, I play the guitar, and I write poetry on occasion.

Why I am a Mormon

Well, my parents joined the church when I was 6 years old and I was baptized when I was 8 years old. I never truly understood the real significance of the church until my late teens, it was then when I really sat down and thought about all that I had heard. One day I seriously prayed about the Book of Mormon, if Joseph Smith was a true prophet of God, and if this was the true church. Heavenly Father answered me and ever since then I went on to serve a mission and now I'm doing my best to serve Him and His children in the callings He has given me.

How I live my faith

I serve in a young single adult branch (for males and females ages 18-30) by coming up with activities for Institute (another program for young single adults). Also, I serve in my families home ward by teaching gospel principles ( a class for those who are new to the church, it teaches the real basic doctrine, but the class can also be for those who haven't gone to church in a while). Those different callings help me stay busy by serving Gods children, and also serving Heavenly Father at the same time.

Do Mormons worship Joseph Smith?

Devin Jaksina
Mormons do not worship Joseph Smith, we worship God the Father and His Son Jesus Christ. But, we do recognize Joseph Smith as a prophet of God. (Prophet meaning one who is chosen of God to speak for Him). We believe that Joseph Smith was important tool in Gods hand to bring about the Restoration of Gods true church on the earth.
