Hi I'm Alex!

I'm the oldest of four, a missionary in Washington, a convert to the church, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the oldest brother of four in my family. I have a brother and sister in high school, and another sister who is in middle school. I love playing sports and doing anything that involves the outdoors. I am a very loving person and like to talk about anything. I enjoy helping people grow and I love the feeling I get from doing so. I have had so many people in my life that would tell me dreams are worthless to have, that life is going to play out in its own way. I do not believe that is true. We have a purpose here on earth, and dreams are what help us grow and become better people. Because of this belief I have that through Jesus Christ we can all return to live with Him and our Heavenly Father again forever, I am currently a missionary serving in the Washington Everett Spanish speaking mission.

Why I am a Mormon

I have not always been a member of this Church. I joined this church about three and a half years ago. When I was a junior in high school, two friends gave me a Book of Mormon to read. At that time, I had no interest in the church, but accepted the book anyway. After having many trials thrown at me, I found myself reading from the Book of Mormon. I read and read and while doing so, felt something stir in my heart. I then asked to meet with the missionaries. I was baptized a month later. The Book of Mormon has changed my life in ways that I never knew were possible. I don't know where I would be today if I never found this church. It has had such a profound influence in my life, and because of that it is one of the main reasons why I am serving as a missionary today. I am a Mormon because I have seen Heavenly Father bless me as I have done my best to keep the promises I have made with Him. When I first met with the missionaries, I believed by the fruits alone that this church was true. However, as I have prayed and asked for answers, the spirit has born witness to me multiple times that this is the restored gospel on the earth today. I am a Mormon because I have found true happiness and personal peace in my life. I now know where I came from, why I am here, and where I am going. I am a Mormon because I receive a daily confirmation that the decision I made over three years ago was right. I am proud to say that I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

As of now, I am a missionary serving in the Washington Everett Spanish speaking mission. As missionaries, we dedicate our lives for two years to share the gospel with all those who are willing to receive it. We teach, invite, and help others realize that there is more that has been given to us, that the Church of Jesus Christ is back on the earth today. I did not always want to serve a mission, but to come to this point, I had to prepare and continue to grow with my testimony in our Savior, Jesus Christ. He did everything that He could to give us the opportunity to return back to Him and our Heavenly Father and I want others to have the same opportunity that I had three years ago; meeting with the missionaries. The missionaries blessed my life in a way that cannot be explained. They helped me in my times of need, helped me figure out that there is more to life, and helped me learn that I can always become a better person. Being in the missionary's "shoes" now is definitely a privilege. To once be in the shoes of someone learning about the church, but now to be the one teaching about it. An incredible faith builder for me. I live day by day with faith in Jesus Christ and am very proud of doing so. I don't know everything, but I know that having faith in Jesus Christ helps us grasp onto things that we can hold dearly for the rest of our lives.
