Hi I'm Rachel

I'm a Mormon. I work as a nurse and have a B.S. in International Public Health. I laugh enough to count as an ab workout.

About Me

I am an LPN working towards becoming an RN. I have a passion for humanitarian work, people and soaking in as many books as I can squeeze in to my schedule. I come from a family of five girls and one boy. They are some of my favorite people! I love life and laughter. Keeping myself informed about current issues is important to me and I enjoy talking with people who have different views. It's so enriching!

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into an LDS family and grew up with these beliefs. A a child I took everything my parents taught me as truth. It wasn't until I left home for college that i started to really think about what I liked or didn't like about how my parents raised me. I studied and thought about what I really accepted as truth. I decided to stay in the church because I have found its teachings to be true and I saw how they lead me to be the best I could be. I've felt the Spirit of God speak peace to my heart on many occasions. As I learn more and develop my relationship with God i have found that the teachings of the church make sense in my mind and feel right in my heart.

How I live my faith

I just try discover what my Heavenly Father wants me to do and I try to do it. The number one most important thing He wants me to do is to be a charitable person. "Though I have the gift of prophecy, and all knowlede; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing." (1 Corinthians 13:2-3) "If ye have not charity, ye are nothing... But charity is the pure love of Christ..." (Moroni 7) I try to share His love with every person i come in contact with in how I treat them. But sometimes I'm not sure what He would want me to do in a situation. Then I try to get answers through personal revelation. I do this by studying his words in the Bible and the Book of mormon and through prayer and continuing to do the things i know He would want me to do. As I do this I get better at learning to recognize what he is trying to tell me. There is so much joy to be found in coming closer to God by loving His children!
