Hi I'm Ryan

I'm a Spanish teacher and a volleyball coach in Arizona. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I live in Arizona. I teach high school Spanish and coach volleyball. I have an incredible wife, who is the most amazing mother, wife, and cake maker. Together we have three amazing children. They are energetic, smart, loving and the most important thing in my life. I love my family. I enjoy being a high school teacher and coach. I think high school kids are at an incredible age. They are starting to develop their own opinions and are looking for something to belong to. That desire to belong and to do is such a powerful thing. I get a chance everyday to help mold and shape them into amazing young adults. Everyday, I see a student or athlete who "gets" it and starts down a path to success. It is an amazing transformation. I teach, not for a pay check, but for a lifetime of memories and joy watching my students learn and grow. In addition to playing, er working, everyday, I also enjoy staying active. I play basketball and golf as much as I can. I play video games with my boys, and dolls with my daughter. They are the highlight of my day!

Why I am a Mormon

I was born a Mormon. My parents are Mormon. My grandparents are Mormon. I have ancestors who traveled across the plains with the pioneers. I was always meant to be a Mormon. However, it remains my choice to be one. I had to find my own testimony that this is the true church on the earth. I had to discover for myself that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God and that he restored all of the truths of the gospel we now have to day. I had to decide for myself that this is where I want to be and what I want to do. It was not until I was preparing to serve a mission in Brazil, that I truly knew for myself. I believe that Joseph Smith did what he said he did. I believe the Book of Mormon to be true. I know that being a member of God's church has blessed my life, and the life of my family in ways I cannot begin to describe. I have been a Mormon my whole life and I will be a Mormon through the eternities. I count it as the greatest blessing of my life to be a Mormon. It defines who I am, guides my daily life, and centers my thoughts. I am a Mormon because I choose to be one.

How I live my faith

I live my faith daily. I wear it on my sleeve. My students all know I am a Mormon. I can never let my guard down. I attend church weekly, and enjoy learning and feeling the spirit every time I go. I work with the youth of the church. It is a great blessing to help them grow spiritually. In addition to Sunday activities, I get to spend time during the week with incredible young men of the church. We learn together. We play together. We grow together. They are a a testimony of strength and conviction to me. They spend their days being tempted by others to do things contrary to the teaching
