Hi I'm Richard

I'm a retired businessman who is working as school bus driver and I am a Mormon.

About Me

My name is Richard but I am generally known as Rick except that my family calls me Richard. I am a father of six children and three step children - seven daughters and two sons. I have eight grandchildren - two granddaughters and six grandsons. I was born in the year 1940 just before the United States entered in to World War II. I have two Masters Degrees in Sociology and Guidance and Counseling. I have worked as a paper boy, an usher in a movie theater, an electrian's helper, a missionary for my church, a job developer and counselor, a case load manager for a government vocational program, an owner and manager of a one hour photo store, owner of a printer repair and service company, and currently a special needs school bus driver and I am a Mormon.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born of good parents who were Mormons that did not attend church, but saw to it that I, my sisters and brother went to sunday school most every sunday. From that beginning I and my siblings were taught about Jesus Christ and his gospel from the Bible and the Book of Mormon - a second witness of Jesus Christ. From those teachings I can say that I have a true conviction that Jesus Christ is my Savior and Redeemer. I know that He overcame death and lives still.I know that because of His atonement that He overcame death for all mankind (all of us) so that we all will be resurrected. I also know that through His atonement that our sins will be forgiven upon our repentance of them. I know that God our Father In Heaven and His Only Begotten, Jesus Christ love us, as witnessed by the atoning scrifice of our Savior. I know that His plan of happiness provides the way we all may return to live with God by living His commandments.

How I live my faith

I try to live my faith by striving to be a good father and grandfather as well as being active in my church and in the community that I live in. As a father to nine children (all grown) and eight grandchildren, we have a lot of family activities from birthday dinners and parties to Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. We also go out to baseball games, picnics, camping, and concerts together. We enjoy each other's company frequently. My wife and I sing in a community choir (the Colorado Mormon Chorale of about ninty to a hundred singers. We rehearse once a week except during two summer months of each year and put on about eleven to twelve concerts a year. I have been in the choir twenty four years nnd my wife twenty three years. In addition I've been a scout leader, a sunday school teacher, president of the sunday school for our congregation, church employment specialist, singer in our local church choir and have done some geneology research on my family lines. I also serve as a home teacher for four to five other families or individuals where I visit with them at least once a month to check on there welfare and offer my services to them when and if they need it.
