Hi I'm Doug

I was born in SoCal. Raised by my Grandmother because my parents were alcoholics. I teach Health and PE. I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I have been a coach for the last 30 years. Athletics gave me the work ethic and discipline that I was missing because my family was unstable. I found the church because of athletics and one of best friends in high school. I now try to pass on what I have learned through sports. I have been married for 23 years to my best friend. No, it was not a girl that introduced me to the church. That was by buddy Robert with whom I worked with at my first job. He took me to play basketball with some other friends, who just happened to be Mormons. I now live in wonderful Colorado. I teach middle school Health and PE. Coach several sports and watch my two kids play several sports.

Why I am a Mormon

I came from a broken family. I craved a family that I did not have as a child. I found out what family means through the teachings of the gospel and through the many examples of church members I was introduced to when I started to investigate the church. I liked what I learned and it resonated with me. I have been blessed to be married now for 23 years and still we are still going strong. Remember, Love is a verb... An action word! You need to work at it for it to work. Well if you have the gospel to guide you in your relationships, it's is easier to have a good marriage. It still takes work, but it's worth it.

How I live my faith

I try to live my faith by being an example to all the youth I teach at my middle school. Through my example I hope that they see a person who has nothing but their best interest in mind. No agenda. Not preaching, just being the best me that I can be.
