Hi I'm Luke

I'm a student, a son, a brother, an uncle, a total weirdo, and amateur guitarist. And happily, I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a fairly typical guy. I am very laid back and love talking to people. I love being with friends and supporting those that may need it. I love music. It is something in my life that I will never give up. When I listen to quality music I feel closer to my God. I have played the guitar for about 6 years now and hope to never stop. I recently returned from a two year mission for the church in Brazil. I am currently attending BYU-I. I have quite a large family with 3 brothers and 3 sisters. I am the second youngest out of these and have learned a lot from their examples. Family is very important to me I love just hanging out at home with them. A few of them are off starting their own families and it gives me great joy to see how happy they are. I have worked some odd jobs but I have learned a lot from each one already. I am currently interested in pursuing a career as an actuary. Don't worry if you don't know what that is, most people don't. I hope to start my own family one day and be happy with them forever.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into a very faithful and strong family in the church. I don't have a grand conversion story or fateful event that occurred in my life. But I do have a testimony of this gospel and the teachings that it provides. I know that Jesus suffered for me. How He could love such a stubborn loser I don't know, but I will be forever thankful for that sacrifice that He made for me. My conversion has been one that has occurred over time, over many different spiritual experiences. The majority of them were extremely minor but they happen all the time. They continue to build even today as my testimony grows stronger. I would not be near the person that I am today if it were not for the Church and the life that it allows me to live. I have had the opportunity to serve so many people and have felt the blessings in my life that have come as a result. I will never give up this religion. I know that it is true and the fact of the matter is if it wasn't my life has still been better off because of it. The knowledge that it is in fact the truth only drives me to be better and constantly improve myself. The teachings of the Church are not secret or mysterious. The simple message of it is just be a good person. Follow that spirit that we all have in the back of our hearts telling us whether something is right or wrong. I have had that feeling come into my heart telling me that this Church is in fact the true Church of Christ and that this is His gospel and that is why I live it.

How I live my faith

I have the chance each Sunday to attend Church and to be instructed by my peers. I myself have had the opportunity to teach those around me and even children of a very young age. My greatest calling thus far has been as a missionary. During this time I saw many miracles and was able to help those in need. I also grew and learned in ways I did not expect. Many of my siblings have served missions as well. The great thing about the Gospel is that we don't have to be super heroes to make a difference. I live my faith just by trying to do what The Lord would if He was in my place. Harder than it sounds! But definitely worth the effort. I'm far from perfect, but that won't keep me from trying my hardest.
