Hi I'm Gary

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a husband, father and grandfather. During my career, I worked as an engineer for a telecommunications firm. Now I am retired and serving as a Self-Reliance missionary. I love to hike, and to do projects. My favorite project has been building and remodeling my family’s home. Most of all, I enjoy when our family gets together to eat, talk and make music.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in an active Mormon family and learned as a youth that my greatest joy came from living my religion. Since that time, I have continued to find that real meaning for my life comes from following Jesus Christ. Life always presents its challenges both for me and my family, but I have developed a confidence that no matter what comes our way, we will be okay.

How I live my faith

I try to be a part of making my community a better place by serving on its volunteer water board. Also, I plan to continue helping our congregation and community as we do projects like building a new home for a widow who lost her's to fire. I try to be a good citizen by voting, and obeying our country’s laws. I strive to be a good husband to my wife and a good father and grandfather. I attend Sunday services regularly and work to fulfill my church responsibilities. One of the most enjoyable of those responsibilities has been the opportunity to work with young people. They are so enthusiastic and willing to make course corrections as they prepare for their future. I strive to attend the Temple regularly and gain great peace from going there. I strive to help people become more self-reliant especially by serving in my calling as a self-reliance missionary. I try to stay close to our Heavenly Father by thinking about my relationship with Him and expressing that in prayer. I try to be cheerful and to make changes in my life as needed.
