Hi I'm Tyler

Happily married and father of 7 - Living it UPward in the Heartland.

About Me

Interests (what keeps my heart beating!) - Gospel of Jesus Christ - Wife (fast beat!) - Family - Handyman (home projects) - Computers - Scouting

Why I am a Mormon

First, I'm a member of the church because my parents were, and I was raised in an active Mormon family. But then I strayed from the church as a teenager and young adult, trying much of the "other" things the world has to offer. I found myself headed down the path of sin, where hurt, destroyed relationships, and prison were probable destinations. I'm thankful that my family continued to set the example, pray, and invite me to come back. I then married a good woman (once Catholic), who grabbed onto the restored gospel firmly once she was introduced by missionaries. When I hear the Gospel of Jesus Christ taught in its fullness and simplicity, my heart and mind readily believe… Why? I have thought on this. It is not just because it is my childhood religion. There is more to it. Latter-day Saints, especially its prophets and apostles, teach with the power and authority. I believe with all my heart that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is His true and living church and we have a great work to do around the world for our brothers and sisters, present and past.

How I live my faith

My wife and I stick to the simple things for our family, especially those things we've been counseled to do by priesthood leaders..... - Attend our church activites, especially sacrament meeting where we focus on the Savior - Pay tithing and fast offerings - Eat meals and pray together - Family Home Evening and daily scripture reading - Avoid any music or movies offensive to the Spirit - Service to brothers and sisters (that's everbody!) I'm grateful I also get to serve the youth as teacher and Boy Scout Scoutmaster. Service really does bring true happiness. Jesus Christ has shown us the way, and it sure helps when you have a winning message and program.
