Hi I'm Heather

I'm the mother of 4 boys. I love experiencing the world with them. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

As the mother of four boys, the men in my life take center stage. We love to travel together - especially to places where we can experience the wonders of nature and our Heavenly Father's creations. Life moves fast at our house and we do our best to keep up: literally running along with it. Everyone in our family runs. My husband runs 100-mile races, I'm training for my first marathon and the boys compete in 5k races. We love running, hiking, biking, swimming, and skiing together - and just about any other activity we can come up with. When we're not playing outside, we're likely reading. At any given time, each of us will have a stack of books to tackle. Our local library is better than a candy store! That's not to say we don't love sweets, and food of all kinds. We enjoy gardening as a family and experimenting in the kitchen together. We love trying new kinds of food and different restaurants. Each summer, we pick a type of food and try to sample all of the best restaurants our city has to offer. So far, we've found the best burgers, pizza, and sushi. Most of all, we love learning and experiencing as much as we can - together.

Why I am a Mormon

Being a Mormon informs everything that I do. It is the paradigm through which I see the world. Being Mormon means that my family can be together forever. So, everything that I teach my children, everything that we do as a family has that goal in mind: that we can be a family forever if we follow the teachings of Jesus. Being a Mormon means that Jesus Christ is my Savior and Exemplar. My daily thoughts and actions are inspired by his acts of service and love of others. I am learning to see all people as children of God and treat them accordingly. Being a Mormon also means that I have a desire to share the happiness that Christ's teachings have brought to my life. What better gift can I offer than the eternally truths that bring joy and direction to my life.

How I live my faith

I believe that faith requires action and in our church there is a lot of opportunity for action. Currently, I am a teacher in our women's organization. This provides me with the opportunity to learn and share what I am learning with my peers. I look forward to learning from the other women of our faith and find that each week at church, I am uplifted and taught. Like all members of our church, I am also assigned several people to visit each month. That is how we reach out and take care of each and form amazing friendships that support us in times of need. In the past, I have also been involved in our children's organization: teaching lessons, organizing activities, training teachers, and teaching music. I've loved every minute with these precious children. I'm continually amazed by their readiness to learn and the depth of wisdom that they are capable of.
