Hi I'm Curtis

I work in the medical device industry. I enjoy singing and playing instruments. I love my family. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in a small farming community, where I learned the value of work. I graduated from engineering school at the top of my class. After graduate school I settled down in rural Nebraska to raise my family. My wife and I are proud parents of six children. I love to read, to watch football, to fish, to sing and to play the piano. I enjoy gardening and puttering around in my yard. My wife and I enjoy taking our children on trips. I've been to 47 states and seven countries. It makes me feel good to be around the fine people of my community and my work place. Probably the thing that most makes me feel alive is to make a positive difference in the lives of other people at home, at work, at church and in the community.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents were members of the LDS church since before I was born, so becoming a Mormon was a pretty simple choice for me. However, when I got old enough to start questioning things, I wasn't satisfied with simply following in my parent's footsteps. I read through the Bible and the Book of Mormon several times. I cross referenced them, and I followed a promise in the Book of Mormon to Read, Ponder and Pray to find out if it was true. God answered my prayer in an unmistakable way. The more I have studied and lived the restored gospel of Jesus Christ, the more I have found the way of happiness. I look forward with faith in my Lord, Jesus Christ, and in his grace to make it possible for me to return to his presence together with my family. I have shared my faith in Christ with others and have seen the same joy enter into their life as well. I invite you to do the same. Every person I know, who has pursued the truth really wanting to know and follow Christ, with patience and an open mind and heart, who has truly studied the Book of Mormon, pondered its messages and how it strengthens the Biblical Witness of Christ, and prayed asking God if it is true has come to know of its truth with a personal witness from the Holy Ghost. It has made all the difference in my life, and I know it could for you as well.

How I live my faith

I've been very involved in church since my conversion. I've played the organ for various meeting groups, I've served as a teacher of youth and adults. I've worked with scouts and primary children. I've worked with the church finances, and I've spent many years as a lay pastor in my local community congregation. It is a joy to be able to serve in the Church and see other's happiness increase.
