Hi I'm John

I am a Micronesian, a husband, a father, a grandfather and I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am a Pacific Island boy and I live in the great USA. I am a husband to a beautiful Pacific Island girl, the gem of my life and I love her much and enjoy taking her out on dates. I am a father of 4 beautiful daughters and a handsome son. All my children are married to great men and my son is married to a beautiful lady. I am a grandfather to 3 beautiful granddaughters and 3 handsome grandsons. I enjoy spending time with my grandchildren. I love my mom. I love my family very much. I love serving in my church. I love working with the youth in my church. I love camping, road biking, mountain biking and basketball. I am looking at adding 4-wheeling to my set of hobbies and am working on restoring a 1972 Toyota FJ40 Land Cruiser. For winding down from a stressful and long day, I watch old classic western movies. The movie "Shane", an old class western starring Alan Ladd is my favorite one. I enjoy cooking for my family. When I find myself in quiet surroundings, I reach for my scriptures. And I am a Mormon

Why I am a Mormon

The Plan of Salvation that teaches us where we came from, why we are here on earth and where we are going after this life is over is why I am a Mormon. This plan adds meaning to my life. The plan teaches me that where I will be able to go after this life, I will be able to have my family with me, because in this plan, families are meant to be eternal. Husbands and wives are not meant "to death do us part" but rather, for eternity, we will be together along with our posterity. This is made possible through the Temples of the Lord where marriage can be forever. In Matthew 16:19, it reads: "And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven". The binding of sealing of husbands and wives is performed in the Lord's temples today - this is why I am a Mormon. I want my family to not only be with me in this life but also in the life to come, thus, an eternal family.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by being actively involved in my church. In the Doctrine and Covenants, which is another set of scriptures that accompanies the Bible and the Book of Mormon, verse 27 of section 58 reads as follows: "Verily I say, men should be anxiously engaged in a good cause, and do many things of their own free will, and bring to pass much righteousness." Thus I have lived by life in such a way that I am able to participate fully in the work of my church by serving in many positions such as a congregation leader, a group leader, an activity committee leader, a Sunday school teacher, a youth leader and teacher, a scout leader and a missionary. I have participated in church building clean up and maintenance, youth outings and conferences. Through the church, I have joined in with other LDS members, as part of the Mormon Helping Hands and helped people whose homes were ravaged by fires, and organize food to distribute to those in need.
