Hi I'm Lynn

I'm a Mormon. I love sports, hiking and camping in the mountains and have been involved in scouting for 30 plus years.

About Me

I am a father of 5 boys, 4 are now married to wonderful young women. We have 8 grandchildren, 4 boys and 4 girls, and we have two more granddaughters that should be born in September 2011. Marilyn and I have been married for 35 plus years. I love camping, hiking and shooting sports. I have been involved with scouting for 30 plus years. All five of our sons received their eagle scout award. I have my degree in accounting and business mangement and earned my CPA license.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in the church and have always had a testimony of the gospel. My testimony was strenghten when I went on a mission to the eastern coast of Canada (Nova Scotia, New Bruswick, Prince Edward Island). I know the Church of Jesus Christ of latter day saints is the only true church on the earth today. I kwow that Joseph Smith was able to talk to God the Father and his Son, our Savior Jesus Christ. I love reading the scriptures, especially the New Testament which tells of the life and minstry of Christ on this earth and the Bood of Mormon which tells about the people and their problems and challenges leading up th the visit of Jesus Christ here on the American Contient, just after the resurrection in Jerusalem. The Book of Mormon talks about the 400 years after Christ's visit and for 200 years of that time there was great peace in the land but the people fell away from the truth and were destroyed.

How I live my faith

I am an assistand district commissioner in the Timberline District of the scouting program. I have been involved in scouting for over thirty years and have worked with young men ages 12-18 during that time period. We have had many high adventure activities and just finished one this summer with approximately 60 young men and 30 adults. We did a high ropes course, leap of faith activities, rapelling and an obstacle course. Each night we had an evening program. I love working with the young men and enjoy their activities. I am also part of a youth committee that plans activities for the young men and young women ages 16-18 years old. We do a combined activity on the first Wednesday of each month from September through April. I am an advisor to the leaders of the young men in our stake. (group of 7 congregations). I visit 6 different wards (congregations) and speak once a month in one of the 7 congregations. I visit three families each month to see how they are doing and to give them a message. I study the scriptures daily and have really gained a love of the scriptures. I try to be a good example for my family and friends and neighbors.
