Hi I'm Kevin

I grew up in western Nebraska. I have a Master's degree in civil engineering. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the father of two beautiful children and the husband of a loving wife. We live in Nebraska, where I attend college and study civil engineering. I enjoy reading bedtime stories to my daughter. When I am not busy reading about green eggs or the finite element method, I also enjoy fishing, golfing, softball, and weight lifting. I am an avid baseball fan. Outside of sports, I am a very amateur painter.

Why I am a Mormon

I know that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and was sent to Earth to atone for our sins. I also know that the Church that He established before His crucifixion has been altered by man over time and has ceased to be His Church. As a result, it became necessary that His Church be restored. I know that this was done through the Prophet Joseph Smith because the Holy Ghost witnessed that truth to me. Because I know this, I was baptized and confirmed a member of this Church.

How I live my faith

Each week, I renew the promises I made when I was baptized by promising to keep His commandments. I would not even bother with that if I lacked faith that He was the Son of God or that He could atone for my sins. Sometimes this is difficult, but I know that our Heavenly Father places trials before us that He knows we can overcome, if we rely on His strength. I live my faith by placing my trust in Jesus Christ in all things that I do.

What is the priesthood?

The priesthood is the authority to act in the name of God. It is a portion of His power given to worthy male members of His true Church. To me, holding the priesthood is a great honor, but with that honor comes a great responsibility to exercise the power of the priesthood by serving others. Show more Show less
