Hi I'm Kurt

My family and I live in Colorado. I write software for a living and science fiction on the side. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My wife and I are living with our daughter and her husband and their four children. I'm a software engineer by profession. I created the very first LDS website devoted to research into the early music of the Church (earlyldshymns.com). I love all kinds of music: Classical, Renaissance, Medieval, folk music from Scandinavia and South America - even music derived from the ancient Bible texts. I also like to write LDS-themed science fiction books. I am fascinated by the early history of the Church and the stories the Pioneers left us.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because it is logical, scriptural, and doctrinally sound, but more importantly because the Spirit has borne witness to me that it's true. I was raised in the Church, but like everyone I had to work to gain my own testimony of it. I am inspired by the sacrifices that our pioneer ancestors made so that we could be a part of this great Church movement. My most priceless possession is the knowledge that God will guide me in the paths He wants me to follow, if I listen to His promptings. He watches over all of his children and He wants us to succeed. Every child of God is born into the environment that will best help him or her to progress and grow in perfection, so we can return to God's presence. Why would He have it any other way?

How I live my faith

I am the Ward Clerk in my congregation, which means I am responsible for the overall record-keeping. I have served as a full-time missionary, Single Adult Chairman, Sunday School teacher (which I loved), and various other callings.
