Hi I'm La Donna Calabro

I'm a Mormon. A convert since I was 14 yrs. old.

About Me

When I was in my thirty's I lost my way. I became inacative in the church since my husband was inactive. It was 40 years ago. It was after I lost everything that I received promptings to share the path I was on and decided to come back to church. My life has changed so much since then in ways I never thought possible. I am so happy and have a lot of graditude in my life. One thing I learned, it is never too late to change your life. I have so much to learn in the church but I have a wonderful ward who are teaching me. They have been so loving and supportive!

Why I am a Mormon

I chose to be a member of the church because it just made sense that the Lord would restore his church once again on this earth and establish his church just as he did when he was here on earth. The commandments should be the same as it was told by the Lord. I am so grateful for the scriptures, and the atonement by Jesus Christ for us so that we can return to our Heavely Father. I am grateful that Joseph Smith was chosen as a prophet to restore the true church and bring back the keys of the priesthood. I am grateful for the translation of the Book of Mormon that is a true testament to the bible that Christ did appear to the American Indians and set up his church with them as he did in Jeruselum. I am thankful for our present day prophet, Thomas S. Monson who is a seer and a revelator, who has two counselors to the presidency and twelve apostles exactly what Christ had when he set up his church. I

How I live my faith

I am one of the ward (church) missionaries. I love meeting new people who have walked in similar shoes as I. I feel so much peace and love in our home. I do help organize community block parties to meet our neighbors. I am also a visiting teacher (some one) who visits the sisters of the church in their home once a month to see if they are in need and leave a spiritual lesson. There are a lot of women out there that never see anyone and are lonely or need a ride to help run errands. Our faith is all about charity and love.

What is the Relief Society?

La Donna Calabro
I love to attend Relief Society just for the women. We have spiritual lessons about our doctrines and the bible. We see what we can do to make each other feel valued and cherished. We do service i.e. bring prepared meals to their home when they are sick, had surgery or had a baby. We visit the sick, whether in a nursing home or at home. Show more Show less
